The technological giant Apple introduced a new generation of iPhones with the serial number 16. The phones have a new multifunction button and, compared to the previous model, a significantly more powerful chip for AI functions or demanding games. Their price in the Czech Republic starts at 23,990 CZK. The company also introduced the Watch 10, which received a larger display, or the AirPods 4 headphones with active noise cancellation.
The expected Apple Event, at which the company presented the new iPhone 16 series, began at seven o’clock in the evening. Apple was the first to introduce the new Watch.

Watch Series 10 have a larger display, it is 30% larger than previous generations, including the model with the nickname Ultra. Compared to previous models, they also have a thinner body, 10% less weight and the fastest charging to date – they charge up to 80% of battery capacity in 30 minutes.
As far as technical innovations are concerned, one of them is the possibility to play sounds directly from the speaker of the watch. In addition to making calls, you can now also play video or music from them.
The novelty is the availability of a titanium design, which in Apple’s offer replaces the more luxurious steel design previously offered. The titanium Watch Series 10 with a polished surface will be available in three color shades: gray, black and gold. The new Apple S10 chip can also improve the quality of calls via the watch.
The Watch Series 10 is newly equipped with a water temperature sensor as well as a depth gauge to a depth of about 6 meters. The Watch Series 10 can be pre-ordered now, starting at $399. Deliveries to customers will begin on September 20.
The Ultra model also received a new design. It will now be possible to purchase it in a dark, black version. Apple also introduced matching new straps to it, including a titanium one. The price of the watch starts at $799.

New features for AirPods
Next came the AirPods product line, i.e. headphones. The new headphones based on a typical design, i.e. AirPods 4, are supposed to be more comfortable than the previous generation.
According to Apple, they should be the best-sounding Airpods with an open-ear design, because the new chip helps, among other things, to improve sound quality. One of the other novelties is the ability to respond to Siri simply by pointing or turning your head. For the first time in this model comes active suppression of ambient noise.
The charging case is equipped with a USB-C connector and can now be charged wirelessly. AirPods 4 cost $129, the version with ANC is $179, with pre-orders starting now and shipping on September 20.

AirPods Pro models are getting new health features. For example, they are supposed to monitor the risks of hearing loss, and the function of a hearing aid is also new, which is intended to help especially people with some of the milder forms of hearing damage. All these new features, which will be available in more than a hundred countries of the world, including EU countries, will be given to AirPods Pro 2 headphones.
AirPod Max headphones have received new colors. The price remains at $549.
More than just a shutter button
Next came the expected iPhone 16. Speculations about a new arrangement of rear cameras and a new side button were already confirmed in the first shots. However, this is more than just triggering the camera, as it allows you to adjust the parameters of the photo by moving your finger.
The basic model has a 6.1″ display, the larger version with the nickname Plus has a 6.7″. The brightness of the display is up to 2,000 nits. A novelty of the basic series of new iPhones is a new action button replacing the volume switch, its function is customizable by the user.
The phones have an Apple A18 chip, which is a jump of two generations compared to the previous generation, as last year’s basic models had an Apple A16 chip. The reason is obvious: the readiness of the phone for Apple Intelligence.
The main camera of the iPhone 16 (16 Plus) has a resolution of 48 Mpix, optical stabilization is not missing. The wide-angle camera has a resolution of 12 Mpix and handles macro photography. The novelty is the phone’s ability to obtain stereoscopic data from the sensors, thanks to the Spatial Capture function, the “sixteens” can create spatial photos. These can be viewed on Apple Vision Pro. Thanks to the hardware support of ray-tracing, even the basic iPhone 16 can handle high-end games. The phones also support satellite messages and other satellite functions.

As usual, Apple did not fail to mention the improved durability of the new products. And not only thanks to a larger battery, but also thanks to a new chip and an improved operating system.
iPhone 16 comes in new colors, in addition to black and white, it is also available in pink, blue and green. The price starts at $799 for the base model and $899 for the “plus” model. The memory base remained at 128 GB.
“Magic” with frames for Pro models
The new camera button is also available on the new high-end iPhones with a titanium body (the inner frame is aluminum), i.e. the 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max models. It now comes with larger screen sizes. The basic Pro model has a new 6.3″ display, the model with the nickname Max even has a 6.9″. In both cases, compared to previous generations, the diagonals grew by two tenths of an inch. The displays have an Always-on function and an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120 Hz.
The phones use the Apple A18 Pro chip, which, like the A18 chip used in the base line of new iPhones, is manufactured using 3nm technology. Apple has used a new processor for processing the image signal in the top models, which is up to twice as fast compared to the previous generation of the chip.
The heart of the Pro models is the Apple A18 Pro chipset. It is produced with 3nm technology (like A18). It has a 16-core Neural Engine that performs AI operations. The main processor again has six cores. The new six-core graphics card increases graphics performance by 20% compared to the A17 Pro chip.
The main camera has the same 48 Mpix resolution as the basic “sixteens”. In this case, the wide-angle sensor also has the same resolution. The telephoto lens with a resolution of 12 Mpix brings a five-fold zoom.
Cinematic mode brings a novelty in the form of slow-motion video in 4K resolution with 120 frames per second. The new Audio Mix function will allow you to isolate the voices of people in the shot from the voices in the background.
The Pro models come in four colors: desert sand, black, light and natural titanium. The price starts at $999 for the iPhone 16 Pro, and the Pro Max model will cost at least $1,099. Apple will launch pre-orders on Friday, September 13.

The Apple Event started at 19:00 CET, the event took place at the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California, which is located between San Francisco and San José. Audiences in Cupertino saw the same pre-recorded presentation as audiences around the world.
On the one hand, Apple kept the usual deadline in the second week of September, but Monday is an unusual day for the September Apple Event. Apple chose it for pragmatic reasons, because on the apparently originally intended Tuesday (September 10) it would have to fight for media attention with the first presidential debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. Although the events do not meet in time, the Apple Event starts at 10:00 a.m. Pacific time, but at least in the US, the presidential debate can take Apple’s attention away from the public.
Keeping a new smartphone model a secret is very difficult for manufacturers these days, Apple is probably the most careful in this regard, and the final product or product photos did not appear before the official presentation to the public. What other brands would give for such a Samsung. Still, the design of the phones was not unknown, images of the covers were leaked – apparently from Chinese factories – and at the last minute the expected changes were confirmed by the manufacturers of the covers.
At the IFA fair in Berlin, several manufacturers already presented covers for the iPhone 16, including visuals that did not hide much. Of course, it’s not 100 percent, but it actually confirmed earlier leaks about a change in the design of the photo module for the basic iPhone 16. The traditional photo module, as confirmed at the premiere of this year’s news, remained only for the Pro models.
However, the new information revealed by the covers of the upcoming phones was the presence of a shutter button on the side of the device. It was speculated about, but originally only for the Pro Max model, or even for the Pro model. However, case makers have hinted that the shutter button on the side will be on all new iPhone 16. It’s an unusual feature on smartphones, but quite practical for taking pictures. Especially if you are shooting in landscape.
